I had participated in the previous Orilium Readathons that G from Book Roast created, well in a very relaxed way. I had meant to participate at the time they were running to create my character, I ended up not being able to do that. So to “participate” and create my character, I went with whatever I read prior to April 1st, 2022 – the start of Orilium Spring Equinox 2022 Magical Readathon.
Let me officially introduce you to my character. Eevilia, Fire Earthling is a Wildling from Irtheria. She has a magical trident (think Sailor Pluto’s Trident) and cat familiar by her side. She is attending Orilium with a calling of Master of Elements.
So that all cover, let’s go over the prompts and the books I picked for the Master of Elements Spring Equinox Semester!
For a Master of Elements, you’re required to take the following courses:
Elemental Studies – Basics of Air Dynamics – Book under 100 pages
I don’t have too many books under 100 pages on my TBR and I definitely didn’t have any planned for this month. However, I took a quick look at my ARCs and found this one – a horror graphic novel I was reminded of when scrolling through Hoopla the other day.
Shapeshifting – Formation: claws – Creature with claws on the cover
This is obviously the 4th one and I haven’t even started the series – BUT I had already planned on binging The Lunar Chronicles this month so this prompt worked out perfect!
Animal Studies – Ways of a Pegasus – Quick Read
Astronomy – Basics: Asteroids & Comets – Top of your TBR List
Conjuration – Conjuring of Light – Source of light on cover
This was the prompt that took the most digging! I didn’t think I had any on my TBR already that had a source of light on it. Started looking at ARCs and thinking of my 22 books I need to read this year. But then I realized in the background of Scarlet there are ships with lights shining down – hello light source!
Restoration – Cure Wounds – Book Featuring Healers
Now it’s been a while since I’ve read this one (the only one of the series that I have), but I remember there being doctors (and possibly nurses) in the book. If I’m wrong, then I’ll have to find another book that will – Kingdom of Needle and Bone by Mira Grant would work here instead I think.
Fingers crossed that I get to all these! I really want to succeed since this is my first Readathon of the year.
