2021 July Mid-Month Wrap Up

Can someone slow summer down please! I would like to continue my semi-holidays for much much longer lol.

In this mid-month wrap up, you’ll see all the books I’ve read before it’s posted and a link to the review post or I’ll give a quick (couple sentences) review along with a star rating. If you want a full month’s wrap up with stars and everything, keep an eye out for my fully Month Wrap Up at the beginning of August.

So with all that out of the way, let’s take a look at what I read for the first half of July.

Finished This Week

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas

I plan on doing a series review shortly, but I gave this one 5⭐

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Backlist
✔ Owned before 2021

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

In the series review…. 5⭐

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Backlist
✔ Owned before 2021

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas

More of the above lol 5⭐

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Backlist
✔ Owned before 2021

A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J Maas

I’m going to include this one in the series review. I know this isn’t the end of the series, but to me it’s the end of that trilogy and the next three (starting with A Court of Silver Flames) would be part of their own “series” despite them all being one.

I gave this one 4⭐

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Backlist
✔ Owned before 2021
✔ Finish Series (Original trilogy and novella in this case)

Six Crimson Cranes by Elizabeth Lim

I wrote a review on this one (3⭐) here.

Goals Met:
✔ ARC
✔ Subscription Book (not received yet)
✔ Diverse Reading

Cardcaptor Sakura Omnibus 1 by CLAMP

This is a collection of the first 3 volumes. These were rereads for me, but they were still enjoyable. They follow the anime almost exactly (or the other way around?). I found the fight scenes to be more captivating in the amine and had it fleshed out in spots, where here they felt like jumps in time to show the highlights. Overall enjoyed it (will always love the art style) and gave it 3⭐.

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Backlist
✔ Owned before 2021
✔ Reread more

A Pho Love Story by Loan Lee

A review for this should be posted in the next little while, but I gave it 4⭐.

Goals Met:
✔ ARC
✔ Diverse Reading

Blades of Secrets by Tricia Levenseller

A review for this should be posted in the next little while too, but this one got 3.5⭐.

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Diverse Reading

The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren

This was my second time reading this one and I loved it just as much the second time around, earning a 4.5⭐.

I loved just how fast paced this book feels. I instantly connected with Olive and Ethan (shipping 100%!!!), just like the first time around. Olive is portrayed as being curvy, although this does not mean it has fat rep (curvy in this book based on the descriptors I pictured more as a size 6). However, her body insecurities really resonated with me. I have had body issues and insecurities for many years and at all sizes. Christina Lauren does a great job at writing smut. Although not a fade-to-black scene, it is not erotica. I found it to be a nice balance. Christina Lauren also write amazing characters. I loved Olive, Ethan and Ami – fully out despised Dane. This is my favourite of Christina Lauren’s book so far.

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Diverse Reading
✔ Owned before 2021
✔ Reread more

Up Next…

The Taking of Jake Livingston by Ryan Douglass

White Hot Kiss by Jennifer L Armentrout

Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano

So that’s it. Have you read any of these? What did you read so far? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below.
