What’s on your Spring TBR list?
OMG all of them lol… but I’ll give you three lol.
If Someone Asked you for a spring release recommendation, what would it be?
The Ones We’re Meant to Find by Joan He
This author is an amazing person and I absolutely loved their fantasy, Descendant of the Crane. This SciFi Mystery sounds amaizng and I can’t wait to start my arc!
One of the most twisty, surprising, engaging page-turner YAs you’ll read this year—We Were Liars meets Black Mirror, with a dash of Studio Ghibli.
Cee awoke on an abandoned island three years ago. With no idea of how she was marooned, she only has a rickety house, an old android, and a single memory: she has a sister, and Cee needs to find her.
STEM prodigy Kasey wants escape from the science and home she once trusted. The eco-city—Earth’s last unpolluted place—is meant to be sanctuary for those commited to planetary protection, but it’s populated by people willing to do anything for refuge, even lie. Which two book scoming out before summer are you eagerly awaiting?
The Crown of Gilded Bones (Blood and Ash #3) by Jennifer L Armentrout
Release Date: April 20, 2021
I’ve reread From Blood and Ash and will be rereading Kingdom of Flesh and Fire before this comes out April 20th! I can’t wait! I’ve avoided the sneak peaks because I know that 3 chapters wont be enough lol.
Heartstopper: Vol 4 by Alice Oseman
Release Date: May 13, 2021
The release date on this one keeps getting pushed back, but I’ve been waiting since March 2020 for this one to come out (I believe at one point it was coming out in February). I love this series and it always makes me happy reading them.
Which character Would make a great Easter Bunny?
Hmmm not sure on this one, but I would love to see Fenestra stressed as an Easter Bunny lol
What Book Makes You think of Spring
Follow Your Arrow by Jessica Verdi
I read this book last month and really enjoyed it (my review and interview with the author). It has the upbeat feeling that comes to mind when I think of spring. It also deals with new relationships, which is a spring thing, right? Plus look at this cover? Does that not scream spring to you?
Name a cover with flowers on it
An obvious one that came to mind, and a beautiful LGBTQIA+ YA book, is Felix Ever After by Kacen Callendar.
Which Two characters would you go on an Easter egg hunt with?
Hmmmm…. there are so many options! Kaz and Inej from Six of Crows would be one. Poppy and Cas from From Blood and Ash is another. I think the last one coming to mind would be Lou and Reid from Serpent & Dove. Reason? Cuz I’m obsessed with those books and dying for more in their series! Would I be a third wheel? Don’t care 😂
What is your favourite spring bookish activity?
Read? Does that count? I guess I can go outside and read under a tree now without freezing lol
Which book did you enjoy that has a spring-like cover?
Sugar and Spite by Gail D Villanueva
I’m currently reading Sugar and Spite and it definitely has a spring cover (well it screams spring to me)! I can’t wait to share my thoughts.
Who is your favourite contemporary author?
Hmmm that is a tough one. I have many I enjoy – Kasie West, Katie Cotugno immediately jump to mind. I think my favourite hard-hitting contemporary author is Tiffany D Jackson (though I do have some of her backlist to go through still)! I wrote a review on her book, Grown, which was one of my favourites of 2020.
That’s the tag – fun? I plan on doing an Easter one in April (since it’s late this year) and possibly a spring cleaning one next month too.
What do you think of my answers? Agree, disagree? Let me know in the comments.
‘Til next time…
