2021 February Mid-Month Wrap Up

Round 2 of my mid-month wrap up!

During the mid-month wrap up you’ll see all the books I’ve read before it’s posted and a link to the review post or I’ll give a quick (couple sentences) review along with a star rating. During the month wrap up, I’ll give stats and show off what I read after the mid-month wrap up.

So with all that out of the way, let’s take a look at what I read for the first half of February.

Finished in the First Half

Hot British Boyfriend by Kristy Boyce

I didn’t do a full review, but you can see my Top 5 Reasons to Read Hot British Boyfriend here.

Goals Met:
✔ eArc

The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L Jensen

Review to come on this one, but let me just say I LOVED IT! It ended up with 4⭐(almost a 4.5). I wasn’t even finished (about 50 pages left) when I decided I need to buy book 2 ASAP!

Goals Met
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Indie Author
✔ Backlist

Muted by Tami Charles

I wrote a review for this one too. I gave it 5⭐! You’ll see my review later in the month, along with some links to own voices reviewers.

Goals Met
✔ Diverse Reading
✔ eArc
✔ Owned before 2021

The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna

I got to be part of the book tour for this one and I am beyond happy that I got to be a part of it! I absolutely loved it – but you can check out my full review here.

Goals Met
✔ Diverse Reading
✔ eArc
✔ Owned before 2021
✔ Sub-box Book

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

I am so far behind on reading this one! I heard nothing but amazing things about this, but I was nervous about reading it because of how much everyone loved it. I had no reasons to fear – I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! I gave it 5⭐. There really isn’t much I can add to what everyone has already said about THUG, but I will be picking up Concrete Rose (THUG#2) really soon!

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Backlist
✔ Owned before 2021
✔ Diverse Reading

Fortuna Sworn by K J Sutton

This was good. Not as amazing as I was expecting, and no where near as much smut as I was expecting, but I still really loved it. I did end up giving it 4.5⭐, which just shows how much I loved this book. I had just hoped it would be 5 stars – plus it’s super hard to follow THUG, The Gilded Ones, and Muted.

Fortuna was a strong character that would do anything for her brother and we got to experience that dedication and love in this book. Book 1 had trials, ones that I had wished for more depth. It also had, like most books with Fae, a bunch of trickery and deception. It ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and a lot of loose ends and I need to pick up Restless Slumber real soon! I think if you loved The Bridge Kingdom or The Cruel Prince then you’d love this one. It has a little more adult scenes than either of those two, so keep that in mind when you pick it up (although not as much smut – in type or intensity – as something like The Wicked Villains series).

Goals Met:
✔ Physically Owned
✔ Backlist
✔ Indie Author

Currently Reading

All the Missing Girls by Megan Miranda

Up Next

Of Silver and Shadow by Jennifer Gruenke
One to Watch by Kate Stayman-London
All Systems Red by Martha Wells

I’m much happier with my progress this month compared to last. I seem to be reading more, but still balancing out other aspects of life (working, school, watching movies, and playing video games). Have you read any of these? What did you read so far? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below.
